We are now rolling out Ford Power-Up 4 and 5 software updates to our customers in Europe. Details of these can be found later in this post.
Please read this first
To ensure a smooth delivery of these updates we strongly recommend:
The following is also very important to ensure undisrupted delivery:
We deploy updates, when they become available, in batches across a period of time. The vehicles selected for each batch will be chosen at random, so please don’t worry if you see someone online receive an update before you do, we haven’t forgotten you! It may take a few weeks for your updates to start arriving and there may also be a few weeks or more between each update. Your car will need to be driven regularly in order to receive all of the updates, if you are away on your holidays or business without your car it’ll be alright and the updates will resume once you are back home and on the road again.
With the many factors involved in deploying software updates to a vehicle, in a small number of cases, it may take more than one attempt to successfully deploy an update. If you do happen to receive an unsuccessful update please don’t panic, we will manage these situations remotely and ensure re-deployment happens, you won’t need to do anything.

Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1
Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1 brings several significant updates to SYNC:
Please note: As this is a major update to SYNC, you may find a small number of settings reverting to default. These may include your drive modes and automatic folding mirrors. I would recommend that after this update, you check that these settings are as you require them.

A fantastic car that is currently being ruined by the software experience. I refuse to accept that i paid 700€ for a technology pack for signal recognition that fails a lot because of a currently broken navigation system
It is just not acceptable. What is even more unacceptable is the lack of customer care by the software division at Ford. We have been now waiting for months and there is not official news regarding the problems or if the solution is coming. It is just incredible for me that they did not at least roll back the update, which we know it was the thing that introduced the problems in our cars.
You own us a response, and quick. We paid a lot and not to have broken software with poor customer care.

Could not have said it any better.
I had zero faults before they they released this new software.
Now I have many problems and it’s all software related. I’ve paid money for upgrades but I have problem with maps, speed sign recognition as when the maps freeze it sticks on the speed sign for the road the map froze on.
it doesn’t take Einstein to work it out that the software is problematic.
What also is worrying is what testing was done before releasing it.
For me it’s like Ford no longer care as there getting rid of the Focus in a year.

They cant be like that. We pay a lot of money for this car, and upgrades that are completly broken. with a "Simple" software update they can fix this. The customer suport is TRASH, but pls @Rob inform us that there is a team working on a quick fix. Im able to send more proves, and tutorials of how to reproduce them.

Well, tnis prtoblem it's not only on Ford, it's present on ALL the cars with Sync4, unfortunately 😞
And it was reported many times by the fellow American people..

In my last contact with customer service at the end of April, I was told that hardly any employees were present at the meeting last week due to the German public holiday. There is currently no new status or date for when the issue should be clarified.
The only comment: "Someone really screwed up."
Perhaps it would make sense for someone to contact a car newspaper or similar with the problems. Maybe Ford first needs negative press to mobilize developers to solve the problem.
At the moment it's just a disgrace.
