We are now rolling out Ford Power-Up 4 and 5 software updates to our customers in Europe. Details of these can be found later in this post.
Please read this first
To ensure a smooth delivery of these updates we strongly recommend:
The following is also very important to ensure undisrupted delivery:
We deploy updates, when they become available, in batches across a period of time. The vehicles selected for each batch will be chosen at random, so please don’t worry if you see someone online receive an update before you do, we haven’t forgotten you! It may take a few weeks for your updates to start arriving and there may also be a few weeks or more between each update. Your car will need to be driven regularly in order to receive all of the updates, if you are away on your holidays or business without your car it’ll be alright and the updates will resume once you are back home and on the road again.
With the many factors involved in deploying software updates to a vehicle, in a small number of cases, it may take more than one attempt to successfully deploy an update. If you do happen to receive an unsuccessful update please don’t panic, we will manage these situations remotely and ensure re-deployment happens, you won’t need to do anything.
Ford Power-Up Software Update 4 & 5 Summary
Please note: Different vehicles and different model years may receive different updates due to different SYNC 4 systems and different vehicle content.
Many updates are background updates. You will not notice any difference in your vehicle following these particular updates. Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1
Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1 brings several significant updates to SYNC:
Please note: As this is a major update to SYNC, you may find a small number of settings reverting to default. These may include your drive modes and automatic folding mirrors. I would recommend that after this update, you check that these settings are as you require them.

Got my 4.2.2.1 on Monday evening. All looking good to far. Only one exception is that my wireless charge pad seems to have gone back to be poor. When first got the car it wouldn't charge my iphone XR for more than a minute or two, then would just stop charging. The wireless pad is poor so just put it down to that.
One previous update I had when it was it at the dealer added an update of some kind and it transformed the wireless pad and I actually had a fully working charge all of the time. (albeit it still didn't really 'charge' the phone, but did keep up with the demand from the carplay etc)
since the new update - it's gone back to previous. Pop the phone on the charger - shows as charging. Within a couple of minutes - no longer charging. Pick the phone up, put it back on and it starts again and goes off again.
arrghhh...
Also noticed a minor change in carplay - the ability for the maps within carplay to sense where the car is from the GPS is also degraded - previously rock solid. New update and it's taking a good few minutes for the map to 'know' where the car is. Both Google Map and Apple Map affected.
Hoping that the other background updates referenced in the pinned note fix that issue when they come down the pipe.

I had Power-up 4.2.2 pushed out to me last Thursday, have had issues since with maps freezing randomly, often happens multiple times on my 20 mile journey to work. Switching screen away from home page then back again forces maps to re-load but often takes a while.
Looks like a very buggy update!!😤

It is indeed a very buggy update but Ford doesn't want to acknowledge this... It was reported on the USA about this bad update since the March update, but Ford ignored the feedback from the people.

Hi, yep when I searched at the weekend I found reference to maps freezing on a US forum. My car is booked in to the dealer to investigate next Monday but suspect there will be nothing they can do.
Really surprised they pushed out a known problematic update

You shouldn't be surprised, it's Ford, they don't care about the user's feedback..
This is unfortunately my last Ford, they lowered the costs too much and it's really bad since they're having a good driving experience, but the service it's really bad, software updates are getting worse and worse...
