We are now rolling out Ford Power-Up 4 and 5 software updates to our customers in Europe. Details of these can be found later in this post.
Please read this first
To ensure a smooth delivery of these updates we strongly recommend:
The following is also very important to ensure undisrupted delivery:
We deploy updates, when they become available, in batches across a period of time. The vehicles selected for each batch will be chosen at random, so please don’t worry if you see someone online receive an update before you do, we haven’t forgotten you! It may take a few weeks for your updates to start arriving and there may also be a few weeks or more between each update. Your car will need to be driven regularly in order to receive all of the updates, if you are away on your holidays or business without your car it’ll be alright and the updates will resume once you are back home and on the road again.
With the many factors involved in deploying software updates to a vehicle, in a small number of cases, it may take more than one attempt to successfully deploy an update. If you do happen to receive an unsuccessful update please don’t panic, we will manage these situations remotely and ensure re-deployment happens, you won’t need to do anything.
Ford Power-Up Software Update 4 & 5 Summary
Please note: Different vehicles and different model years may receive different updates due to different SYNC 4 systems and different vehicle content.
Many updates are background updates. You will not notice any difference in your vehicle following these particular updates. These are essential to the continued smooth running of your vehicle’s connectivity, over-the-air functionality, and digital products and services such as FordPass. They must all be installed in order to receive any subsequent updates and new features.

Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1
Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1 brings several significant updates to SYNC:
Please note: As this is a major update to SYNC, you may find a small number of settings reverting to default. These may include your drive modes and automatic folding mirrors. I would recommend that after this update, you check that these settings are as you require them.

Does anyone have any news about our problems on Focus? Has the dealer replaced any Apim modules? On Friday I will return for the third time from the dealer ....
on 24 April 2024 09:17 21
I think we’re all still waiting.
@Rob are you aware of anything pending in the update area?
on 26 April 2024 02:25 14
Since Rob is sleeping I personally did something.
I went to a Ford dealership and said that this problem it's continuous, they updated the APIM again and created a case at the ford factory. They said in 3 weeks I'll receive an answer if the APIM will be replaced or not. I'll share the feedback with everyone from here since Ford it's not transparent.

Thanks for sharing, let’s see what happens.
if they replace the apim it prob will work as it will have new chip set on or can have a newer version of sync.
its just a shame we’re not getting other answers, all we ever wanted to know, if there is going to be and when a software update.

Currently the APIM software available to the dealer is the same as on your cars. Similarly, replacing the APIM will be largely like for like. I'd only expect an APIM to be replaced if a dealer can find a diagnosed hardware failure. Thank you to those that have taken their car to a dealer for investigation and/or have contacted our local customer assistance teams. This greatly helps. As far as I'm aware, the reported concerns are being looked into.
Our Customer Assistance Centres are taking the lead on this now, as there is nothing further we can do from within the Community. If you haven't already done so, please ensure that you have reported your concerns to them so that they can advise of any next steps.
