We are now rolling out Ford Power-Up 4 and 5 software updates to our customers in Europe. Details of these can be found later in this post.
Please read this first
To ensure a smooth delivery of these updates we strongly recommend:
The following is also very important to ensure undisrupted delivery:
We deploy updates, when they become available, in batches across a period of time. The vehicles selected for each batch will be chosen at random, so please don’t worry if you see someone online receive an update before you do, we haven’t forgotten you! It may take a few weeks for your updates to start arriving and there may also be a few weeks or more between each update. Your car will need to be driven regularly in order to receive all of the updates, if you are away on your holidays or business without your car it’ll be alright and the updates will resume once you are back home and on the road again.
With the many factors involved in deploying software updates to a vehicle, in a small number of cases, it may take more than one attempt to successfully deploy an update. If you do happen to receive an unsuccessful update please don’t panic, we will manage these situations remotely and ensure re-deployment happens, you won’t need to do anything.
Ford Power-Up Software Update 4 & 5 Summary
Please note: Different vehicles and different model years may receive different updates due to different SYNC 4 systems and different vehicle content.
Many updates are background updates. You will not notice any difference in your vehicle following these particular updates. These are essential to the continued smooth running of your vehicle’s connectivity, over-the-air functionality, and digital products and services such as FordPass. For easier reading, I’m excluding background updates and am only providing details of software updates with notable driver content.
See summary above for applicable vehicles for each Ford Power-Up
Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1
Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1 brings several significant updates to SYNC:
Please note: As this is a major update to SYNC, you may find a small number of settings reverting to default. These may include your drive modes and automatic folding mirrors. I would recommend that after this update, you check that these settings are as you require them.

It’s awful if I’m honest. 35K car and things don’t work.
its a simple software update that’s needed too.
sync 4 update brought the bugs in, and they just need to be resolved,
but getting any update, answer or sync to fix there faulty software is what’s causing more and more upsets.
its a complete disaster and a simple update would just be the fix,
what’s make it worse, other forums are having the same complaints😢
all I want is my car to work as I bought it, I don’t think that’s too much to ask😢
but I do agree, there should be a bug fix place as well.

We are close to finishing Ford Power-Up 4 and have nothing more to add for most vehicles, including Mustang Mach-E. The updates here from us will now be very limited. I'd recommend unsubscribing from this thread - we keep a link to the prior Ford Power-Up series in the most up to date pinned thread in case anyone needs to refer back to prior updates.

Thanks @Rob
are there any plans for the Ford Focus for power up 6? Or just a modification the the current power 4 to fix our issues?
thanks

@Rob It would be interesting to know if a solution to the sync 4 problem is being worked on
