We are now rolling out Ford Power-Up 4 and 5 software updates to our customers in Europe. Details of these can be found later in this post.
Please read this first
To ensure a smooth delivery of these updates we strongly recommend:
The following is also very important to ensure undisrupted delivery:
We deploy updates, when they become available, in batches across a period of time. The vehicles selected for each batch will be chosen at random, so please don’t worry if you see someone online receive an update before you do, we haven’t forgotten you! It may take a few weeks for your updates to start arriving and there may also be a few weeks or more between each update. Your car will need to be driven regularly in order to receive all of the updates, if you are away on your holidays or business without your car it’ll be alright and the updates will resume once you are back home and on the road again.
With the many factors involved in deploying software updates to a vehicle, in a small number of cases, it may take more than one attempt to successfully deploy an update. If you do happen to receive an unsuccessful update please don’t panic, we will manage these situations remotely and ensure re-deployment happens, you won’t need to do anything.
Ford Power-Up Software Update 4 & 5 Summary
Please note: Different vehicles and different model years may receive different updates due to different SYNC 4 systems and different vehicle content.
Many updates are background updates. You will not notice any difference in your vehicle following these particular updates. These are essential to the continued smooth running of your vehicle’s connectivity, over-the-air functionality, and digital products and services such as FordPass. They must all be installed in order to receive any subsequent updates and new features.

Please note: As this is a major update to SYNC, you may find a small number of settings reverting to default. These may include your drive modes and automatic folding mirrors. I would recommend that after this update, you check that these settings are as you require them.

Just seen this on another Forum, so hopefully a fix in sight...
Official statement from Ford
New 2022-2024 Focus SYNC 4 Software Quality – Navigation Freezing, Black Screen and Poor Bluetooth |
It has been brought to our attention that many Ford Focus (2022-2024) vehicles fitted with SYNC 4 are suffering from Navigation freezing and slow to load, SYNC screen going black and poor Bluetooth functionality including static noise. These issues are occurring following an Over The Air Software Update – even if not related to the quality of the Over The Air software delivery, but of the existing software on the vehicle. NO PARTS should be exchanged in relation to these faults. The Ford engineering team are working to resolve all these issues in the next SYNC software update - currently expected to be available in Q3 2024 (subject to change depending on final sign off). |

Can you include the source? I doubt that this message is actually from Ford, because of the words and grammar used. It's not as "official" as I would expect.

Thanks for this.
this is all Ford had to do 6 months ago to tell us.
instead it’s been a total customer service shambolic disaster and forums galore all over Europe have angry and upset customers.
Total PR Disaster.
I’ve been complaining as many others for 6 months and it feels like we’ve been ignored and basically just fobbed of like we’re all wrong.
they waisted everyone’s time going into Ford centres when we’re all telling them the same. I’m totally angry at a Ford due to the software released that we a
l rely on ruining the running of the car and its functions I’ve paid for.
it’s been apauling from start to finish and this is how they lose customers.

So just out of interest.. Does the new Kuga and Puma with SYNC4 have
PU4.x or PU6.x?
Bronco which have SYNC4 (I guess not 4a) is on PU6.x..
