We are now rolling out Ford Power-Up 4 and 5 software updates to our customers in Europe. Details of these can be found later in this post.
Please read this first
To ensure a smooth delivery of these updates we strongly recommend:
The following is also very important to ensure undisrupted delivery:
We deploy updates, when they become available, in batches across a period of time. The vehicles selected for each batch will be chosen at random, so please don’t worry if you see someone online receive an update before you do, we haven’t forgotten you! It may take a few weeks for your updates to start arriving and there may also be a few weeks or more between each update. Your car will need to be driven regularly in order to receive all of the updates, if you are away on your holidays or business without your car it’ll be alright and the updates will resume once you are back home and on the road again.
With the many factors involved in deploying software updates to a vehicle, in a small number of cases, it may take more than one attempt to successfully deploy an update. If you do happen to receive an unsuccessful update please don’t panic, we will manage these situations remotely and ensure re-deployment happens, you won’t need to do anything.
Ford Power-Up Software Update 4 & 5 Summary
Please note: Different vehicles and different model years may receive different updates due to different SYNC 4 systems and different vehicle content.
Many updates are background updates. You will not notice any difference in your vehicle following these particular updates. Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1
Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1 brings several significant updates to SYNC:
Please note: As this is a major update to SYNC, you may find a small number of settings reverting to default. These may include your drive modes and automatic folding mirrors. I would recommend that after this update, you check that these settings are as you require them.

Good evening everyone. I’m hoping I have positive news. Not sure if you can also verify for me please @Rob
However today I’ve had the normal constant freezing, but this evening just now driving home, new software installed. What I have no idea.
ive no version number, nothing at all. But one thing has change, the dings are no longer garbled. There a proper ding, Map didn’t freeze, but I didnt drive it long enough.
So tomorrow I will check how it performs on way to work and back.
Sync version hasn't changed, so is it under the hood changes. I do hope so.
Ill keep you all posted, but it may be also for you to check you updates too.
Fingers crossed.
I’ve added the screen shot of the new update wording n👍🤞

Evening all, so I’ve mixed reviews I’m afraid.
Maps still freezing 😢😤
Warning tones do seem less or not garbled any more. 🤞
Phone Call didn’t drop, but I wasn’t on long. So will try again over next few days. 🤞
Otherwise not seen anything other than the update does feel a tad smoother, but that can sometimes be a placebo.
It did reset my tyre pressure back to bar when I have it a psi.
@Rob any news on what this update was and what’s next as it’s says more to come.
i just hope next update fixes maps freezing.

Here I was thinking this was just my car! Focus Vignale 22, After a 3rd battery change Dec. 23 (another story) the dealers updated my software Sync 4.2.3. Now, the sat nav and speed recognition freezes and when the sat nav freezes, there’s a static buzz sound comes through the speakers and warning sounds go wobbly? (Only way to describe it). I thought it was just my car!

I’m afraid not,
Ford have completely made a mess of Sync 4.
best thing to do is complain to Ford direct I’m afraid,
until Ford bring a complete new version of Sync to the version we have, it will never be any good I’m afraid.
