Remote Start & Rear Screen Defrost

When I use remote start through fordpass the front windscreen defrosts and the steering wheel & heated seats come on, however the rear screen does not defrost unless you manually press the button on the screen once in the car and the passenger heated seat does not come on. What parts should come on for this function. I have checked the settings and there are very few options with this.

Currently, the mobile app doesn’t control anything in regards to climate for the Remote Start.  Climate is handled onboard the vehicle. 

These are the settings available within the in-vehicle infotainment system: There are 2 options for climate:

1. Auto (Default) and can be edited by you
2. Last Settings

However, none of the settings contains the option for rear windows.

So you saying the rear screen defrost should not operate when you do a remote start so no defrost even though front screen, drivers seat, steering wheel, mirrors, all defrost?

Rear Defrost should behave very similarly to the Front Defrost.

There are separate settings available  in-vehicle infotainment system for the Rear Defroster as well:

1. Auto (Default)
2. Off

It should be set to Auto for the Rear Defroster to turn on in Remote Start.

It basically takes an automated decision; if it's cold outside, it will start the Rear Defroster to clear the glass in Remote Start.
