How is the distance for ACC calculated, as it doesn't seem very natural?
When driving in slow traffic the distance is too large, even when I have the setting at 1. This leaves room for other cars to sqeeze in between, and it's not good for the overall traffic flow.
But when driving at faster speed I need to use distance setting 2 or 3 to make sure I keep at least three seconds distance.
I should be able to keep one setting, and the car should adjust the distance naturally and automatically.
Is there any improvements on the way for this?

The gap setting is time dependent and therefore, the distance adjusts with your vehicle speed.
I thought I saw a chart somewhere that had the times listed but I cannot find it. I thought it was like 1 = 1.5 seconds, 2 = 2 seconds, 3 = 3 seconds, 4 = 3.5 seconds or something graduated like that. Don't know the exact settings.
This is what I found in my manual.

I never use the acc in position 1 as it frightens me to death, I would definitely argue for extending the gap on the higher setting to help with a relaxing driving style in acc.
