Mach-e. The USA version has a button in FordPass to open the bonnet (Frunk). The U.K. version doesn’t and it is something to do with PAAK which is available in the USA but is not available in the U.K. due to security/insurance rules. I don’t need PAAK, but it would be nice to be able to open the bonnet using the FordPass App. Parking at my daughters house the driveway is pretty narrow so you have to park with the passenger door close to the fence in order to leave enough room to get out of the door. To open the bonnet in this instance becomes impossible because you have to open the passenger door to fully pull on the bonnet release lever.

@MikeC did you see any major differences when you got upgraded to 1.7?

I'm still yet to take mine in to get sorted.

@Robblockwood, still waiting to take the car in for the Pano roof and windscreen recalls (they are waiting on parts), and apparently they will do the software update then. Still on 1.6 🙁

Ok, now on 2.7.1 power up, and the Q2 development ended 10 days ago (as stated by Admin earlier in this thread)…Still cannot open the bonnet ‘Frunk’ via ‘Access’ in the setting menu or via the FordPass App. Not the end of the world, but if end of Q2 is not achievable by Ford, then please Ford give us an update. Ford promises feel like the ‘donkey with the carrot’ scenario…..need I explain more? Bit like my dealer…..so frigging nice when selling me the car, but any after-sales questions, problems etc trying to get an fix/answer  (as the expression goes) is like flogging a dead horse.

Come on Ford, step you game up and inform us….is that too much to ask?

Hi @MikeC, you are correct, thanks for bringing this to our attention and I apologise. This feature looks to have been delayed. Once we know more, I'll update the status of the Idea,

Hey MikeC!

Fully agreed about Ford upping the Game!

So many features coming were promised when buying the car … then get completely sidelined,  and all attempts for answers fall on ‘waiting for an update from Technical ’  apparently ignored or dismissed.

I  need that Frunk button too, and  also my EV Data to display in the FP App.  It doesn’t for any build 1 Mach-e!

At least in this forum we get responses, but no definitive solutions on these issues!

I’m working on trying to get sone contacts in Ford Head Office regarding Customer Service.

For customers buying their Premium  Flagship Car  you’d sure think someone there would be concerned that it is so poor for buyers to receive qualified technical support on these issues.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻!

Hi @JasIII, I’ve more or less given up trying to get an answer from Ford and certainly totally given up with my dealer as they make so many promises to get back to me and they never do. The most recent one was the Mach-e towing limit. I had heard via another forum that it had been updated from 750 to 1000 kgs. Still waiting weeks later for an answer. Sorry I’m starting to rant!
Anyway, good luck with getting some contacts in head office and if you succeed, extra good luck with getting a technical answer. I honestly learn more from other owners via the forums (macheforum.com for example).

Cheers

I have asked some questions on towing capacity - I should have an update for the group early next week 🤞

According to this Ford UK Press Release this supposed to have happened by OTA for all European Mach-Es’ … but I cannot confirm it listed as part of  any updates.

May 3, 2022 – The Ford Mustang Mach-E’s approved braked towing capacity has now been increased to 1,000 kg on extended range models in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive – enough to allow customers to tow a typical small or average-sized fibreglass fishing boat.

The Mustang Mach-E also received updates to reduce the charging time between 80-90 per cent capacity from 52 minutes to 15 minutes, a recalibration of the one-pedal driving feature for even smoother performance at lower speeds and enhancements to driver comfort.

“The towing upgrade for Mustang Mach-E is one of a number of free updates we’re continuing to make in hardware and software or through homologation  to give owners the best experience possible,”

Hi @JasIII, thanks very much, that certainly is very useful information. The shorter charging time from 80 to 90%, I had noticed the so much shorter time but hadn’t seen anything official about it.
