Tesla have it so you can view cameras from you phone. Be great to use the cameras if the alarm goes off

The Tesla camera system is very different to the Mach e system.

the Tesla sentry mode is great thought it can use quite a bit of battery if left running for long periods. I owned a Tesla and it was a good feature.

But the major factor is that the Tesla uses one very powerful computer system for all the car systems and everything is run by this and the module is quite large.
compared to fords and other manufacturers which use separate ecu modules for different things you would be surprised on how many there are on the Mach E.
it would be possible for the cameras to be used but new hardware and software would be needed.
I have mentioned before it is surprising that built in dash cams and a sentry mode not many manufacturers use the built in cameras for these features.
As far as I’m aware Tesla are the only ones that have both I believe a Citroen has a built in dash cam, the corvette has a track cam system as do Lamborghini.

No doubt it will eventually come but when is anyones guess

If sentry mode isn’t possible, how about the ability to view the cameras from the FordPass app on demand.

And perhaps link it to Securialert so if an alert is generated it captures a short video.

I’ve mentioned similar before. Any kind of ‘security’ or dash cam facility that can be done via a software update would be superb.

The Mach E system is totally different to the Tesla system.
without a major hardware and software upgrade viewing in a app or dash cam/sentry mode isn’t currently possible.
the 360 cameras on a Mach e are live view only comparing a Ford to a Tesla is like comparing a dog and a cat totally different.

would I like this feature yes I would and I wish Ford and other manufacturers would fit this system to their cars it would be a great selling point, cars are coming with so many cameras now that it should be introduced. What you must remember the video feed from the cameras must be compressed and then saved this on a home PC takes significant processor power to achieve this and it would be doing this on live footage.

the Tesla camera system which was introduced when the model s/x had its face lift around 2017 was for their autopilot and full self driving system their computer in the car is significantly more powerful. The dash cam/sentry mode only came in around 2019 after a massive software update. The live view via their app has only just been launched again another big software update but I do believe it’s only available to cars that have V3 of their computer.

I think 12V battery key offload, would kill the battery SoC, worse case a no start situation
