It would be great if SiriKit/Shortcuts support was added to the FordPass app so we do the following by saying "Hey Siri..."

  • Power Level Status
  • Unlock/Lock Doors
  • Lock Status
  • Open Frunk
  • Precondition car
  • Remote Start

Shortcuts Support Article

@notaek Perhaps Ford could make it easier, which would be great, but just so you know it is already possible to do a lot of this.

Check out the thread https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/siri-shortcuts-on-ios-remote-start-unlock-view-status-withou... and there is also at least one in the iOS shortcuts sub on Reddit.

I've actually altered the start shortcut so when I say "Start the Pony" to my Apple Watch it not only starts the MME but speaks back a random phrase from a list (Get E up, Ready to Ride, etc.) I put in the shortcut. Geeky, but people that hear it get a kick out of it.

I agree.mrskeltal.jpgf I would like Siri shortcuts that I could just import from the application

With a recent update to the Ford Pass security, the available shortcuts no longer work.  Unfortunately, rather than add the feature it appears Ford just sent a notice advising against using the only available workaround (relaying through a 3rd party server for authentication).

This really should be added in as a capability, allowing me to lock/unlock, start/stop, close windows, etc. via Siri on my watch and my phone. In a perfect world, this might also make it so the shortcuts could be triggered as parts of different scenes. As an example, if someone has a scene setup for "going to bed" it could verify the doors are locked and windows rolled up as well.

Just to show there is interest in this idea:

I would love to officially have support for this as well as lock and start status back to the shortcut.

Not only do they not work, but FordPass security is banning accounts that use them without warning.

Do better Ford! Don’t be user hostel and give us access if you want to keep tech savvy users from switching away.

The frustrating part is the data and functionality are out there.

An example of where this would have been useful, yesterday my car was acting weird and I was concerned the 12v battery might be low. In the old days I’d just run my 12v battery status shortcut and it would tell me the voltage. Instead I had to take out my OBD2 scanner and wade through all the data while sitting in my car.

I also used to have a shortcut that ran every night at 9pm, only if I was home, to tell me that my car was locked, if it was plugged in, and if it was charging. It was a nice nightly confirmation. Now, I have no way to confirm the doors are locked without going to the app and locking them again.

Yes, Siri Shortcuts to operate the car would be an incredible feature to have.

Your move, Ford. Stop banning users that are trying to do useful things with their vehicles.

Add a secure API that we can use to integrate into our apps so we can fill the gaps you are unable to fulfill and develop!

Also worth noting that my wife’s new RAV4 makes it very clear it’s capable of doing this.
