Ad-hoc preconditioning

Currently I only have the option to precondition my Mach-E on a set schedule.  It would be really helpful to be able to precondition the car on an ad-hoc basis as well, similar to how I can remote start the car to warm the cabin.  As it stands, I need to add a scheduled departure and remember to delete it again afterwards.

I got my Mach e Last week and currently it is extremely cold in Europe, so precondition the battery and cabin is a big plus. I am currently setting up a departure schedule and deleting it again afterwards.

 

The naming of the start button is not an issue, but from what I read the button doesn't precondition the battery but only the cabin.

 

So what I would like to see, and I think @Mark_L as well, is an ad-hoc & one-time battery preconditioning button.

Can we confirm that there is or isn't a difference between "remote start" and "battery preconditioning?"  Obviously cabin temp is adjusted for either, but if I hit start on the FordPass app, does this actively precondition the battery as well as start to improve cabin temp?  If not, is there a way to do it?   What about a button/option to actively begin battery preconditioning when approaching a fast charger separate from Ford Navigation?
