Hi, this is really useful -thank you!  I saw 3.5.2.1 come through, how many more are needed to get to Alexa?

Hi @Damon1982 - this is the first of three for you. You will need two more that will be deployed as soon as possible.

Great update, thanks guys this answers a lot of my questions -  any updates around when we will be getting BlueCruise?

Hi @Pete - we have no timing that we can confirm yet but after we have successfully deployed all of Software Update 3 we hope to share more around what is coming next. We will announce any updates here!

This is really informative. It’s good to know why the software update process is more complex in Europe, and it makes sense seeing as we drive, on average, shorter distances per journey so there’s less power-up time to download and apply them.  Unfortunately I can see why that wouldn’t have come out of testing for the US market!

It would be great to have these kind of videos for every major feature update if possible @Darren . Alexa is a key feature but there’s a lot of UI quality of life features that are on the US vehicles that I’d imagine we start seeing soon now the deployment issues have been resolved?

A public software feature roadmap would be really helpful too.

Hi @Rob@Darren.

Just a note to say thank you! 🙂  My 21 Job1 car has now completed all three updates in exactly the manner you detailed and Alexa is up and running!  Really appreciate the info offered upfront and what to expect and when.  Great communication and service.

Now when and what can we lucky Brits expect next via OTA 😁😉  Keep up the good work!

Thanks @RobGD and appreciate the feedback.  I will continue to update the thread with the next updates in Ford Power-Up 3.  I'm adding a new minor update today.

@Daleth Hi, this video and thread may answer some of your questions from the blog post last month.

@Ikenna Thanks for the link. Clarifies a bit.

As for announced updates I've received all last week. Great! Will keep waiting for biggest one for me which is UI update (AC control via knob and easily accessible camera button) - hope not long 🙂

PaaK seems to be working fine still (got better after dealer updated software on some modules) and my car no longer just opens trunk randomly when I'm near 🙂

Hi

Does anyone know how long the drive cycle has to be to complete these updates before update 2 allows multi cycle updates? I drive the car for about 40 minutes a time about 4-5 times a week but the rest of the time it’s shorter drives.

I’ve a Job 1 car and have had it 2 years. I’ve had issues with OTA updates previously and had to take it to a delete who eventually updated me to 2.6.0 in March 23. The last update I got was

Priority Update 22-PU0727-VI-FXA on 16/06/23.
Thanks for any help.

Hi @Calum80  Downloading a Ford Power-Up Software Update depends on a number of variables e.g. the file size being deployed, availability and quality of cellular and/or Wi-Fi connectivity, available bandwidth, how much the vehicle is being driven etc.  Ford Power-Up 3.5.2.1 is a relatively small file and should download quite quickly and easily within your normal driving cycles.  I would also anticipate that Ford Power-Up 23-PU2001-PR-FX will also be downloaded ok.  The need for multi-cycle updates is more critical for the larger updates, particularly Ford Power-Up 23-PU0205-PR-FX in this sequence.  We will be monitoring these.

Thanks @Rob for helpful reply.

Do you know if the car remains connected to a wifi network once the car has been powered down? Does it connect to wifi when a download is available? My car (2021 SR AWD) only shows on my network if it’s powered on or for a few minutes after being switched off.

Also, does the fact my car is on 2.6.0 mean I have to go through any previous OTAs before getting to the version 3 updates?

Thanks once again and sorry for being a pain!

Hi @Calum80 You're not a pain at all! We're here to help wherever we can 🙂

The car remains connected to WiFi for a maximum of 15 minutes after ignition off.  It will normally always connect when in range of home WiFi and if a new software update is available it will start or continue to download it (it may only partially download an update when it's a larger file) and in this instance will mix cellular and WiFi downloading).

I would expect your car to be ready for the Ford Power-Up 3 updates.  To be sure though, could you private message me your VIN, along with your consent for me to look at your vehicle data please? I will take a quick look at it to make sure everything looks ok.
